Welcome to Foundation Flor Ayuda's web site
Flor Ayuda’s mission is to provide aid for poor people in Guatemala
in the areas of health care and education. At first we met mainly material needs.
Currently we sponsor mostly projects geared to promote self help: persons receiving
assistance are also stimulated to personally work toward improving their situation.
Since Flor Ayuda’s inception in 1996 many projects, including schools, medical clinics,
a library with a computer lab and an educational fund, have been realized with the help
of private donors, businesses and organizations.
In Guatemala, Flor Ayuda works closely with
AGDI
(Asociación Guatemalteca de Desarollo Integral).
For the last 30 years AGDI has worked to improve the medical care and living conditions
of the poorest segments of the Guatemalan population.
AGDI
formulates its projects depending on actual needs and asks Flor Ayuda for sponsorship.
AGDI
executes the projects and reports to Flor Ayuda. Throughout the course of each project Flor Ayuda
continually assists, tracks and evaluates progress.
About 2% of donations received by Flor Ayuda go to administrative costs. This percentage is so low
because all board members work on a volunteer basis. Thus, practically your whole donation will be
put to good use helping the poor people of Guatemala.
